Wike claims, “I was poisoned at the PDP secretariat, but God healed me.”

escapes plane crash as wife’s chamber is destroyed by an unknown fire

Nyesom Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, has described how the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign office in Rivers state reportedly poisoned him.

At the family thanksgiving ceremony organized in his honor on Sunday at St. Peter’s Anglican Church in the Rumuepirikom Deanery of the Diocese of the Niger Delta North, Wike made this revelation.

Wike asserts, “Despite the political gang-up against me, God has, without a doubt, made all those evil plots against me fail.”

The former governor clarified that he cannot discuss his successes while serving as governor without thanking God for them.

He remembered how the Peoples Democratic Party’s campaign secretariat had poisoned him in 2018.

He had renal and liver failure, as determined by a hospital’s diagnosis in Beirut, Lebanon.

The former governor of Rivers State stated that on a fateful Sunday in December 2018, when he was scheduled to attend Chief Emeka Woke’s thanksgivings, he was unable to do so because he had been poisoned.

He said, “I never left my room after that Sunday. It was terrible, but those who were present at the 2019 State Banquet on January 1st will recall that I remained silent the whole event. My Deputy Governor was instructed to speak on my behalf as I simply sat down and waited.

“People were unaware of what was happening. I was escorted out of that supper about midnight after it ended.

I left the nation because I believed it was over.

“When we arrived in Beirut, I was staring at the physicians while they were staring at me. They told we had to take a lot of tests but they didn’t say anything else.

He claimed that when the physicians visited the following morning, they delivered a somber message that his kidney and liver had stopped working.

“I was poisoned at our campaign secretariat, but I had no idea. My intestines were completely black. The doctors made every effort.

But thanks to God’s providence, Wike continued, “what would have been a terrible situation was miraculously turned around by God, who started restoring my failing organs right away.”

He claimed that within a week, God had cured him, and he was able to travel back to Nigeria to carry out his 2019 reelection campaign.

As the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in 2022, Wike also remembered how his wife, Hon. Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike, called him from London to inform him that she had been diagnosed with cancer.

The former governor said he was heartbroken by the news and even considered withdrawing from the presidential run, but his wife begged him not to because she eventually recovered from cancer and had her life preserved, to the glory of God.

He claimed that despite a gang up that was conducted by those who had pledged to follow Rivers’ decision collectively, “God went further to grant him and the State a smooth political transition.”

Mr. Wike claimed that he is at rest because the proper successor was picked.

Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, stated that he is a member of Mr. Wike’s political family, which has come under attack by his opponents but has so far been unsuccessful in doing so.

Fubara emphasized that Mr. Wike has continued to enjoy political success as a result of the culture of expressing gratitude to God.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was represented by Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau were among the dignitaries that attended the celebration.

Governors of Rivers State Siminialayi Fubara, Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Hope Uzodinma (Imo), and Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri (Adamawa) were also in attendance.

Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru (Ebonyi), Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang (Plateau).

Other dignitaries included the former Governors Senator David Umahi (Ebonyi); Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti); Ayo Fayose (Ekiti); James Ibori (Delta); Dr. Peter Odili (Rivers); Samuel Ortom (Benue); Ifeanyi  Ugwuanyi ( Enugu); Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia); Abdullahi Umar Ganduje (Kano); Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo (Gombe); Jonah David Jang (Plateau); Olusegun Mimiko (Ondo).
