The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Abiodun Alamutu, has restated the police command’s determination to ensure that criminals find no safe haven in any part of the state.

He emphasised that it is crucial for criminals to redirect their efforts towards more productive endeavors instead of disrupting the peace of the state.

Alamutu made this declaration during a visit by Comr. Wole Ademuyiwa-leadership, representing the Computer Telecommunications Technicians Association of Ogun State, to the state command headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.

Speaking during the visit, the CP said, “Our core duty is to provide security and rid the society of all that is antithetical to achieving peace, law and order and this we shall continue to do, we shall never allow any part of the state to be a haven for any criminal. Residents of the state are assured of their security even as they keep supporting us in the discharge of our constitutional roles.”

Comrade Ademuyiwa highlighted the challenges facing their members, one of which is the issue of insecurity which has made many of them lose their valuables to marauding thieves.

Ademuyiwa said, “Essentially, we are here to seek a better working relationship with the police state command. As an association that is into repairs of telecommunications gadgets, laptops, CCTV and some other gadgets that are under ICT. We came to see the CP who has no doubt been doing great work to let him know that we appreciate his proactiveness and dutiful sense of purpose.

“However, sometimes our members fall victim to these robbers, we certainly need the police to help us in this area. Security is also the business of everyone, we are also ready to support the CP, Abiodun Alamutu and his team in their bid to make the state safer and be unconducive for the criminals.”

The association, recognising its crucial role in the country’s technological landscape, sought advice on improving the safety of its equipment and personnel.

Additionally, the Remo Chairman of COMTEAN,  Hyacinth Nnaji, expressed gratitude for the Commissioner’s support and likened it to that of a father figure for the association.
