Beyoncé broke the record for the most Grammy Awarded artist of all time this year, after receiving her 32nd award at the ceremony.
The singer made a record as she was announced the winner of the best dance/electronic album, for her gleeful dance opus Renaissance.
By so doing, she got past the Hungarian-British conductor George Solti, who has held the record of 31 awards for more than 20 years.
The star could hardly stop herself from getting passionate while receiving the award
“I’m trying not to be too emotional,” she said while receiving the prize.
“I’m trying to just receive this night.”
She further went on to thank her family, not excluding her late uncle Johnny, who made her costumes before she became famous.
Previously Beyonce had said his battle with HIV affected her interest in dance music, and its documented ties to the LGBTQ society, in Renaissance.
Beyoncé’s historic accomplishment was applauded at her table , with Adele and her husband Jay-Z among those toasting the singer.
As the ceremony continued, Beyoncé was able to extend her lead even further.
She was up for the major prize of the night, an album of the year, as well as song and record of the year, both for her number-one single “Break My Soul”. But she had skipped some of her early prizes after being stucked in gridlocked downtown Los Angeles.
“I’m surprised traffic could stop you,” joked host Trevor Noah once she arrived. “I thought you traveled through space and time.”
Despite her success, Beyoncé was once again locked out of the coveted album of the year award.
She has now lost the prize four times, most notably in 2017 when her confessional masterpiece Lemonade was beaten by Adele’s 25.
At the time, Adele used her acceptance speech to say Beyoncé was the more deserving winner (although she held on to the trophy).
