Cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye on Friday pleaded guilty to a four-count charge of abuse of the naira and money laundering preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, at a Lagos court. it is  reported that the self-acclaimed transgender, also known as Bobrisky, was arrested in Lagos on Wednesday night for allegedly mishandling naira notes. Nigeria’s ace comedian, Alibaba, has weighed in on the arrest of Bobrisky by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. NEWSMEN  reported that Bobrisky, a self-proclaimed transgender and crossdresser, was arrested in Lagos on Wednesday night for allegedly mishandling naira notes. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has disclosed that foreign remittances surged to $1.3 billion in February 2024. The Bank’s Acting Director of Corporate Communications Mrs. Sidi Ali, revealed this on Thursday. Sidi said that overseas remittances reached $1.3 billion in February 2024, surpassing the previous month’s inflow of $300 million by more than fourfold. She noted that foreign investors actively participated in the Nigerian market, purchasing over $1 billion worth of local assets last month. The Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisations (GAVI) has revealed that Nigeria is set to receive the first set of vaccines for combating meningitis outbreaks in the world. Yobe, Bauchi, Jigawa, Gombe, and Katsina are some of the states largely affected by the outbreak.
