Abia State Police Command has declared a 12-year-old boy, Master Prosper Nnadozie Chibuike of Umuode Aba, missing.

This brings the number of persons declared missing by the Police in the State to six, since March, 2023.

A statement from the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Chioma Maureen Chinaka said the latest missing person, Prosper Nnadozie Chibuike left home on June 30, 2023, to an unknown destination and has not been seen again.

The PPRO advised anybody with information about his whereabouts to report to the nearest Police station or office of the PPRO, Umuahia.

The information is coming three weeks after the State Police Command declared one Esther Ujunwa James of Ariam Elu Elu, Ikwuano LGA missing.

A statement from the PPRO advised anybody with information about the missing girl to report to Mrs Roseline Aboaja of Ariam Elu Elu, the nearest Police station or the office of the PPRO, Umuahia.

Also, the Police Command in June declared one Mercy George, a resident of Total area of Owaza, in Ukwa West LGA of the State, missing.

The report said that Mercy George was living with her aunt, Ebiye George at Owaza before she disappeared to an unknown destination.

The media  recalls that the State Police Command had in April, 2023, declared one Master Chibuike Onyebuchi, a native of Abam Nsirimo, Umuahia South LGA, missing.

According to the report, Chibuike Onyebuchi left home on March 3, 2023, and never returned home.

In that same April, the State Police Command had declared one Wisdom Uche of Mgbarakuma, Ubakala, Umuahia South LGA missing.

Uche left home on March 15 to an unknown destination and was not seen again.

Findings by The media showed that the missing persons are teenagers or those under the age of 25.

The development has created fear in some parents as they have increased surveillance around their children and wards.

It has not been established if those earlier declared missing were later found as no further announcements were made by the Police or their families.

When The media  reporter contacted the PPRO of Abia State Police Command, Chioma Maureen Chinaka to know if any of the missing persons were later found, she promised to get back to the reporter with a feedback but did not.

A further reminder message sent to her on the matter two days after was not responded to as of the time of filing this report.
