The former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has claimed that God gave the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, the chance to atone for its prior transgressions amid rumors that he was attempting to influence President Bola Tinubu for an appointment.
The comment was made by Wike, a member of the PDP, the main opposition party, during a live media interview on Tuesday in Port Harcourt.
The current administration’s zoning policies were the subject of Wike’s comments during the media chat, but he insisted he had never lobbied for any cause.
The former governor claimed that the opportunity for repentance now exists because the ruling party had transgressed against the people during the previous administration.
“APC should be celebrating that God has provided them with a chance at the cost of PDP. God gave APC the opportunity to repent from the sins they committed against Nigerians,” Wike said.
