The Joint Affirmations and Registration Board (Pillar) has broadened the end date for the 2023 Direct Passage (DE) enlistment by multi week.
This is stated in a statement that was made available to journalists in Abuja on Monday by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, Head of Public Affairs and Protocol for the board, following the management meeting of the board.
Benjamin stated that the DE registration exercise, which had been scheduled to end on Thursday, April 20, 2023, had been extended by one week beginning on Friday, April 21, 2023. It had started on Monday, March 20, 2023, and was supposed to end on Thursday, April 20.
He claims that the purpose of the extension was, in part, to provide an additional opportunity to all holders of Cambridge A-Level certificates who were unable to register for the exercise due to issues with the verification of their certificates.
He stated that it would be in their best interest to accommodate anyone who wanted to register but was unable to do so within the allotted time.
“It should be noted that the British Council is partnering with the board in its effort to ensure that the Cambridge A/L Certificate is included in the verification process.”
As a result, it would provide a portal for the streamlined verification of its Cambridge Certificates, as well as those of other types of A-Level certificates.
“It is this arrangement of a confirmation entryway by the Gathering that educated the board’s choice to reevaluate its previous stand on the exclusion of a Cambridge testament for DE enlistment.
He stated, “Therefore, all Cambridge Certificate holders who desire to register for the 2023 Direct Entry can now proceed to any of the boardโs offices nearest to them to register for the exercise.”
Benjamin added that the thought in no manner incorporate up-and-comers anticipating Cambridge Testaments, as “Anticipating Results” wouldn’t be acknowledged.
“It would be reviewed that the board, after a progression of revelations of misrepresentation of A/Level outcomes, changed its DE enrollment stage to guarantee, among others, that main testaments with obvious cycles are permitted as section necessities for the DE work out.
“To smooth out the cycle, the board had likewise distributed various authentications that are considered DE enlistment, which had, until now, prohibited the Cambridge Endorsement.
โIn light of this, the British Council sent a high-level delegation to meet with board management to look into the possibility of establishing a trustworthy verification platform for its Cambridge A/L Certificates.
“Furthermore, thusly, we can control rates of distortion of results as are knowledgeable about numerous other A/L testaments endorsed as a feature of DE passage necessities,” Benjamin said.
