Nigerians have been encouraged to exercise patience while the administration of President Bola Tinubu eliminates the fuel subsidy.
According to Prophet Ade Ologbonyo, the planter of the Christ Apostolic Church, BOANERGES Worldwide, the President has made a good start by eliminating the fuel subsidy.
The man of God urged Nigerians to always speak well of their nation and to pray for its leaders and people.
Ologbonyo, who spoke at a press conference announcing the ministry’s weeklong 14th anniversary celebration in Ise/Orun Ekiti, claimed that the action indicated the new administration’s desire to carry out its duties properly.
However, the priest begged the federal government to develop palliatives to lessen the consequences of the reduced subsidies on the populace.
said, “We shouldn’t expect the new President to work miracles, but I think he did the right thing by eliminating the fuel subsidy.
“It is the ideal move by any Nigerian leader who will act morally. Nigerians simply need to exercise a little patience, and the government must continue to negotiate and find palliative measures to lessen the effects of the fuel subsidy on the populace.
“I think this new government is showing us that they have hope if we are patient with them, so let’s keep praying for them,” the speaker said.
He continued by suggesting that the federal officials should receive the first round of palliative care when their salaries are reviewed upward because the consequences of higher fuel prices will be mitigated.
It would be diminished if they increased.
Their purchasing power will rise as a result, and the money will spread throughout society.
Additionally, the government needs to develop an economic strategy to prevent retailers and service providers from raising prices for goods and services by 100% anytime there is a gasoline shortage.
“Let there be a price control policy and a policy to assist the government in monitoring the actions of market women and other traders in order to prevent them from charging exorbitant rates for their goods and services.
“For instance, practically all gas stations across the nation, including those in Ekiti state, instantly shut their stations and refused to sell to the public when President declared in his inaugural speech that the gasoline subsidy is gone.
Therefore, the first thing we must do for the incoming government is to pray for them, asking God to lead them in the proper direction. Guide our leaders wisely, enable our youth in learning the truth, as it is stated in the second verse of our national song.
The federal government should concentrate on ways to unify the nation, according to prophet Ologbonyo, who laid out the agenda for the next administration.
“We are already split and divided. He has to unite the nation once more. Like Igbos and Yorubas, the Hausas should not identify as such. Forgetting about our tribes, ethnic groups, and places of origin, we should all think of ourselves as Nigerians first.
“Security of lives and property should come second, Mr. President. It is the main obligation and a responsible government’s initial task. In a safe society, no one should be walking around with bodyguards and the police, but due to the security condition in our nation, some people can live without this. Because they should be able to go to sleep with their two eyes closed, security is crucial.
He should also put a lot of effort into repairing the broken economy of the nation. Palliatives should be implemented as soon as the fuel subsidy is gone to lessen the unpleasant impact on the populace.
