Al-Hilal reportedly wants to announce the signing of Lionel Messi on June 6.
According to SPORT, the Saudi Pro League club have set June 6 as the date to have Messi’s final yes and to formulate plans for the announcement of the groundbreaking news of the 35-year-old’s arrival.
Messi is set to make a decision over his next club destination after Paris Saint-Germain confirmed his departure from the Parisians at the weekend.
The Argentina World Cup winner played his last game for PSG against Clermont Foot at the Parc des Princes on Saturday.
Apart from Al-Hilal, Barcelona are still interested in signing Messi, but they are not currently in a position to make the forward a final offer. Al-Hilal, on the other hand, pulling out all the stops to secure his signature, are prepared to make Messi the highest-paid player in the world, trumping his longtime rival Cristiano Ronaldo’s €200 million per year deal with Al Nassr.
The club have reportedly put a €400 million salary proposal per year on the table for Messi.
